At our practice, we want you and your family to be as safe and comfortable as possible during your time in the dental chair. To do this, we abide by strict and comprehensive infection control standards, as outline by several official health and work safety organizations, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Not only do our dentist and team abide by the standards set by these organizations, we also exceed many of these standards. We do this simply because we care about our patients, and we are committed to ensuring that both your health and overall well-being, as well as that of our team, is protected. Some of our safety and infection control standards include:
- Face masks and gloves for each team member and dentist
- Protective eye glasses for both team members and patients
- Disinfectant hand soap
- Disinfecting countertops and other surfaces with safe chemicals
- Sterilized tools and equipment between each use
One of the most important safety and infection control precautions we take is sterilizing each reusable tool in between uses. To do this, we use an autoclave. An autoclave is a special device that uses heat, steam, and pressure to kill viruses and bacteria. In addition, we use disposable tools whenever possible, as this can help reduce any chance of cross-contamination.
At Steele Dentistry, our top priority is ensuring that each patient is not only safe but also comfortable during their visit. One of the best ways to do this is to reassure you that our dentist and team make every effort to maintain a clean, sterile environment. From small children to senior patients, you and your family can feel safe with our Stapleton dentist!
